25th November 2010Today the players from each Major Association team will wear black arm bands and hold a minutes silence to recognise those affected by the Pike River Coal Mine disaster. Todays play will start at 10.30 and the Auckland Aces, Northern Knights, Central Stags, Wellington Firebirds. Canterbury Wizards and Otago Volts will have a minutes silence at the start of play.Black arm bands will also be worn today by the players and support staff.NZCPA Chief Executive Heath Mills has been in communication with the BLACKCAPS team overnight and would like to convey that "Daniel Vettori and the team send their thoughts back to all New Zealanders, particularly those families and the communities who have been directly affected by this tragedy".Ross Dykes, Otago Cricket CEO said we wanted to show our support for the families and the West Coast communities. All the families and communities are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
