NZCPA Masters Series Schedule 2011/12



NZCPA Masters supporting cricket in Otago Country


The NZCPA Masters are set to play Otago Country XI in a Twenty20 match on Sunday 19th February at Molyneux Park, Alexandra. The NZCPA team will be captained by former international cricketer Mark Greatbatch who was in magnificent form for the NZCPA side in his last appearance against the Australian Masters in Hamilton.

The NZCPA Masters team features cricketing legend Ewen Chatfield, who joins fellow ex international players Geoff Allott, Roger Twose and Kerry Walmsley. The local selection side features ex Otago and New Zealand cricketer Shane O’Conner as the 2010/11 Hawke Cup winners look to upset the NZCPA sides’ proud winning record.

Many first class cricketers emerge from provincial New Zealand and it is for this reason the NZCPA’s members are conscious about promoting cricket and continuing to give sporting opportunities to young New Zealanders. The match day features a coaching session on the morning where local children are able to enjoy coaching and interaction with the NZCPA Masters team. The players enjoy giving tips and inspiring future generations of cricketers and ultimately showcasing cricket in a competitive Twenty20 match.

The NZCPA Masters Series was born from a desire to support and promote cricket in regional areas of New Zealand with the goal of assisting maintain cricket’s vibrancy throughout the country. This match has the wider intention of supporting Otago Country cricket as they pursue the goal of improving standards at Molyneux Park to meet the requirements for being a first class venue.

Schedule for the day (Sunday 19th February)

· 9.30am – 10.30am – NZCPA Junior Coaching Session
· 1.30pm – 4.30pm – NZCPA Masters v Nelson
· 5.30pm – 7pm – Post Match Function

The NZCPA Masters team features former New Zealand and first class cricketers.

· Local cricketer selected through More FM promotion

The match will be scored Live using the latest 3.0 version of the CricHQ scoring application.

· Live calculation of Fujitsu Heat Pumps MVP points.
